TARGET AREAS
-Diagnosis
The technology associated with new diagnostic techniques has enabled medicine to take major steps forward in the early diagnosis of illnesses and thus better plan treatments and select the most appropriate courses of action. With each passing year, developments in diagnostic methods make it possible to devise new techniques and technologies, as in the case of endoscopy and a host of other specialties.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a technique that allows the physician to obtain important visualizations, collect samples and even conduct microsurgery. It is a method of investigation and/or treatment of diseases that affect the esophagus, stomach or intestines by using flexible tubes introduced via the oral or anal cavities, known respectively as upper digestive endoscopy and colonoscopy. Exams investigating the small intestine can be made via enteroscopy, which can be done using a fiber optic endoscope or an enteroscopic capsule, or both. In cancer prevention, allied with early diagnosis techniques, these are already well-established methods, especially in diagnosing cancer of the stomach, esophagus, small intestine or large intestine.

Endoscopy has advanced a lot in recent years, leading to the development of new equipment and the creation and fine-tuning of various techniques. As with all diagnostic examinations, it should be conducted solely upon medical prescription.
